I found hitting my 40's made the process of getting healthy much harder. When I started working with Melissa, I was immediately struck by her commitment to me. Melissa created food and workout plans tailored to my likes and lifestyle, which I believe gave me more of a chance to be committed and successful. I had never been able to do real push ups. After a few training sessions I was able to do 10 "big girl" push-ups!  I also lost 20 pounds,   10% body fat, dropped two pants sizes, and come to a much healthier, more comfortable relationship with food. I have also run my first 5k, which Melissa encouraged me to do. I enjoy running now and love Melissa's Tread class.... Melissa is honest, has a great knowledge base in nutrition and training, and has a passion and desire to see me succeed.  She is a great cheerleader and task master all at the same time.  She has helped me to push through the hard times and achieve some difficult goals.

During my annual physical this past March, the doctor told me I would have to begin taking medications to treat high cholesterol and high blood pressure. I asked the doctor to allow me to try managing these conditions with diet and exercise in which he agreed and scheduled a follow-up visit in three months.  At the follow-up visit in late June, the doctor admitted that he was very skeptical that I would be able to achieve success without medication, however he was astonished at what I was able to accomplish in that three month period.  My cholesterol dropped from 260 to 180, and my blood pressure was well under control. I also lost 30 pounds and reached a level of physical fitness and health I have not seen in over 25 years. Melissa's approach to nutrition and exercise has helped me lose double digit percent body fat, strengthen my body’s core, and increase muscle mass.  I lost 4 inches off my waistline, 3 ½  off my hips, while increasing muscle tone.  At nearly 49 years of age, I am now wearing clothes sizes that I wore back in my early 20’s. 

  The thought of getting back into the exercise arena after so many years (and pounds) was very intimidating to me, however Melissa removed that “intimidation factor” at our first meeting.  She has a genuine passion for helping her clients “get fit” and she truly enjoys seeing them reach and exceed their goals.  She is the best!

I worked with Melissa for six months, doing both training and the nutrition program.  With her, I got results like I never had before.  I lost 13 pounds and dropped 10 percent in body fat.  I got stronger and more toned.  The nutrition program was great, because it's about more than weight loss.  It's about creating a pattern of healthy, balanced eating that you can sustain long term.  I'm so grateful to Melissa, for her enthusiastic support every step of the way and all the knowledge that she brought to the table.  She was the key to reaching my fitness goals.
